About Us

Mary and MomIn 1989 I decided to pursue a dream. I had always enjoyed caring for the elderly, but could never seem to find a way to "do it my way". It seems as if our elderly population are "herded" to nursing homes where they are shuffled around, medicated and patronized. Although the staff may attempt to make a difference, in most cases they are severely overworked and under paid.

I wanted to change that type of situation to one that could give those individuals who didn't need skilled nursing a chance to live in a pleasant home and be cared for by a family. In doing so, they would become part of my family where we get to know them on a truly personal level. There are no "change of shifts", no loud speakers 24 hours a day, and they are known by their first name, not a chart and room number. I wanted a place where they could count on having their favorite meal, playing that familiar card game or just knowing that they were not alone and would always have some to talk to.

The "Manor" was purchased in 1990 and I am happy to report that my dream turned out to be a reality. There are people who are searching for an alternative and our family home has become "home" to many seniors over the years.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my home.
